Jagdish Giri is science graduate from Allahabad University. He is of 43 years. Has been working with PANI (a leading development organization of Uttar Pradesh) for last 15 years and strongly believes in voluntarism, positive thinking and constructive action. His mission is to empower rural poor in Eastern Uttar Pradesh to fight social and economic exclusion. PANI is providing him opportunities to do this work of his choice. He is a selftaught and self-driven person and strives to develop himself progressively and to work intensively with profound understanding, analytical perspective, resourcefulness and insights; and always be effortful to contribute to those development organizations, resource agencies and funding agencies, who have been working or supporting for the poverty alleviation & integrated development of the rural poor at grass-root level in underdeveloped regions of Uttar Pradesh.

He is Member of PANI- Core Management Group. Having experience of developing, implementing and coordinating many projects in past on issues of women empowerment, community health and livelihood. Currently he is in role of Team Leader in a Resource Hub Team for a big community health program, which has been set-up at PANI to support Tata Trusts Mumbai supported “Eastern UP Health Initiative” to provide technical handholding, monitoring and capacity building support to 21 grassroot level organizations engaged in implementation of this health program in 21 blocks of 9 districts in Eastern UP.

He provides technical and strategic management support on regular basis to various projects being implemented by PANI at diffident locations on issues of women empowerment, community health and child rights. As a PANI-Core Management Group Member; he works for resource mobilization in PANI for last 15 years.. He is having vast experience of conceptualizing and formulating the development projects/grant writing on various issues; and having the experience of building and sustaining partnerships with counterparts in funding agencies.

Apart from the above; since 2003; on voluntary basis he has been working with SATHIUP (a state level association of 392 grassroot level organizations) and provides organizational development and program development inputs to its member organizations. He is also in the Governing Board of SATHI-UP as Member since August 2014.

Deo Datt Singh

Deo Datt Singh is agriculture professional with 15 years of experience in leading teams and managing agriculture/agribusiness and allied programmes. During the past 15 years he has served in progressively senior positions, as Sales Executive, Syngenta India Limited; Area Manager, Seminis Vegetable Seeds (India); Deputy General Manager, Sustainable Agriculture, for IITC Organic India Pvt. Ltd.; Programme Officer, Agribusiness, Care India; Deputy Chief of Party, USAID funded Growth Oriented Micro-Enterprise Development (GMED) Programme India; Chief of Party, USAID funded Implementing Grant Proposal (IGP); Programme Manager, USAID sponsored Partnership for Innovation and Knowledge in Agriculture (PIKA); India Country Representative and Managing Director, ACDI/VOCA and its affiliate Agribusiness Systems International (U.S. multinational development company); Chief Executive Officer, PANI (People’s Action for National Integration).

He has managed several private sector led programmes for agro-industry firms and international agriculture development organization. This depth of experience has provided him with a through understanding of challenges inherent in the Indian agricultural and agribusiness sector, with particular expertise in working with small, marginal farmers and rural entrepreneurs to enable them to improve their livelihoods and family incomes. Additionally he has through understanding of integrating gender and climate change issues with across the project management.

Sima Verma

Sima Verma is associated with PANI since June 2006 and leads the women empowerment initiatives in the organization. She provides technical support to existing projects on gender mainstreaming and community mobilization. She has nine years of experience in leading teams and delivering results.

Her areas of expertise include mobilizing collectives of women and strengthening their voices for their rights and entitlements. She is also good at project designing, implementation; result based monitoring (RBM) and partnership management.

She earned her Master’s in Social work and has done her graduation in Home Science from N.D. University of Agriculture & Technology, Faizabad.

Anoop Kumar

Anoop Kumar is associated with PANI since June 2005. He oversees sustainable livelihoods and NRM, Energy & Climate Change initiatives in the organization and provides technical support to existing projects for sustainable and impactful results. He is a result-driven leader with over 13 years experience in promotion of farm based livelihood, project development & strategy planning. His areas of expertise also include developing monitoring tools, training materials and conducting training. He has led big teams, programs and partnership.

In past he has worked with UPDASP (Uttar Pradesh Diversified Agriculture Support project), a world bank assisted project of UP government. He has worked in the diverse segments of livelihood promotion, sustainable marketing initiatives and institution building. He played an instrumental role in standardizing a unique high income machan (multi layer cropping) model for marginal farmers and several other crop rotation models for flood affected area, alkaline land and wild animal affected areas.

He earned his Masters in Agriculture with specialization in Animal Nutrition from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology and bachelors in Agriculture from N.D. University of Agriculture & Technology, Faizabad. He also attended summer school on Climate Change Adaptation; Knowledge, Practices and Policies at MICD, Kathmandu, Nepal and authored three research papers.

Dr. Ugrasen Singh

Dr Ugrasen Singh is a development professional with 15 years experience of implementing project on health, nutrition, integrated child development and HIV AIDS. He started his career with PANI and still continuing as Program Manager and managing Child Centered Community Development (CCCD) project funded by Plan India.

In addition to hands on experience of working with HIV affected people he has expertise in organizing youth and mobilizing community. His other areas of expertise engross capacity building, integrated child development, documentation, monitoring and evaluation.

Mohammad Zahid

Mohammad Zahid is well qualified development professional with 12 years progressive field experience. After obtaining his post graduate degree in Sociology from Kanpur University in 2004, he started his career as outreach worker with PANI.

For all these years, he worked with PANI in different capacities but his work has always been focused on people affected by HIV. From August 2004 to December 2006 he worked for Care India supported Chayan project; from Jan 2007 to May 2009 he was involved as Alliance Coordinator in Action Aid funded project Strengthening PLHIV networks and promoting alliance for advocacy on HIV issues. From May 2009 to February 2010 Zahid was Program Manager with PACT/USAID supported project AAWAM (AIDS Awareness among Migrants).

At present Zahid is working as project coordinator with Plan India and Axis Bank Foundation supported Saksham project. In project Saksham he contributed to 127% increase in average income of 4041 VOCSETs (Victims of Commercial Sexual Exploitation Women) and WAA (Women Affected by AIDS).

Zahid has also attended several training program and workshops as:

  • One day “ISOFI- Inner Spaces Outer Faces Initiative” workshop on Gender and Sexuality conducted by CARE.
  • Three days technical orientation on HIV/AIDS conducted by CARE.
  • Two days workshop on “Gender and Sexuality” conducted by CARE.
  • Ten days workshop stepping stone training on communication and relationship skill HIV and AIDS and Gender.
  • Five days training on Adolescent Health Family Life Education and HIV AIDS by NIPCCD Lucknow.
  • 5 days training on IDUs and HIV/AIDS in Kolkata.

Zahid also manages several networks of PLHIV. Other skills of Zahid include capacity building, livelihood development, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

Shashank Kumar

Pathani Behra is associated with PANI since January 1996 and leads finance department of the organization. He also provides secretarial support to chief functionary in Governance related functions.
