What We Do

PANI invests in strengthening the capacities of people so that they are able to understand their own situation, recognise the challenges, identify the way ahead and take steps to bring about a change such that they can live life fully. All our work is based on the inherent dignity and worth of people and we continuously seek to innovate strategies to make this a lived reality in all spheres of life. Our work is guided by the integrated approach to development in which all the physical, social, cultural, political, economic as well as intellectual dimensions are related to each other and a change in one leads to a change in the other.

Since its inception in 1986, PANI has been working with marginalised segments of people such as – women, dalits, poor, children, people affected with HIV and AIDS, urban poor, landless etcetera. We work in the domains of health, education, livelihoods, child rights, women’s rights, people’s entitlements etc. To consolidate our work, we visualise five thematic areas for PANI. They are –

- Integrated Child Development
- Sustainable Livelihoods
- Gender and Governance
- Health and Nutrition
- Climate Change and Natural Resource Management
