Integrated Community Development

Health, Nutrition & Wash

• Primary healthcare of women & children at the population of 11,80,688 in 497 GPs (total coverage: 1,79,858 families)
• Intervention with 79,686 adolescent girls of 15-19 years age group to ensure menstrual hygiene, TT immunization, anemia screening & treatment (with de-worming & intake of IFA tablet), basic counseling on health & nutritional care and social factors of malnutrition.
• ‘PANI’ has been instrumental in changing behaviour of 1,79,858 families towards primary healthcare of women, children and adolescent girls. This has been achieved by identifying and nurturing community change makers and establishing informal community monitoring system.
• Promotes/triggers/catalyzes community action to create awareness and take in their entitlements to improve health and nutrition services.
• Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) is now agenda of Nari Sanghs (women CBOs) in 497 GPs where primary healthcare program is being implemented.

Gender and Governance (women empowerment)

• Established 7000 women’s identity as farmers.
• The 84 adolescent girls resource centres are enabling 4200 adolescent girls from poorest families to come forward as empowered girls to realize their rights and fulfil their needs and aspirations.
• ‘PANI’ has helped to women, girls & community to develop enabling & safe environment for girls and women.
• In Empowering Rural Women (ERW) initiative of ‘PANI’; total 1,21,878 women are collectivized in women CBOs named Nari Sanghs in 786 GPs of 40 blocks in 10 districts. The key achievements are as under.

MGNREGA:
– Realization of wage entitlements by 90,932 women (out of total 1,21,878 women of Nari Sanghs)
– Strengthened implementation of NREGA at both demand and supply side
– Women started articulating their entitlements and aspects of gender equality

Public Distribution System:
– Regularized 571 PDS shops on 4 parameters
– 61,013 women/families of Nari Sanghs directly benefited from it
Activation of Gram Sabha and use of RTI Act:
– Regularized open Gram Sabha meeting in 579 GPs
– Active participation of Nari Sangh women in open GS meeting with agenda
– The 1,412 Nari Sangh leaders started using RTI application on issues of entitlements
Initiative on Violence Against Women (VAW):
– In all 579 intervened GPs; Nari Sanghs are empowered to address prevalent gendered social practices and violence against women & girls

Sustainable livelihoods

• ‘PANI’ has standardised a package of practice that has potential to yield income of Rs 60 from one square meter land.
• Customized ‘PANI’ Livelihood intervention package increases household income by 50% in 24 months.
• ‘PANI’ has helped 36000 farmers reduce their cost of cultivation by 20% by optimising use of resources and increasing use efficiency.
• Helped 8500 women to adopt 5 improved technologies to reduce their drudgery in agriculture.
• Provided pre and post migration services to 15600 migrant labourers to facilitate their migration process and improve migration experience. ‘PANI’ works as a readily available platform to provide solution to their complex problems like legal and skill development issues.
• Works with 5000 rural and urban ultra poor women to improve their livelihood through providing them access to credit and knowledge on enterprise.
