Bharat Bhushan is a committed social worker known for working on crucial issues like Child, Farmer, Migrant Labour and women facing injustice.
As one of the founders of PANI he dedicated his life to social welfare at a young age and has fought against casteism, communalism, and other forms of discrimination. As secretary of PANI he is leading organisation and inspiring many social workers in India.
Shashi Bhushan is a social activist inspired by the Gandhian Ideology of integrated rural development. As student, he actively participated in Sampurna Kranti Andolan 1974, led by Jai Prakash Narayan and spent 10 months of his life in Jail. He is associated with PANI since 1996 as grassroot worker and social activist. In PANI he has coordinated four projects, two focused on health issues and other two on women rights and livelihood issues.
He is leading a network of 469 grassroot level organizations through umbrella organization SATHI (Supporting Association for Thematic and Holistic Initiative) to catalyze the development process in underdeveloped regions of Uttar Pradesh.
He represents PANI Core Management Group as lead of Networking.
Deo Datt Singh
Deo Datt Singh is an agri-business expert. He has 20 years of progressive experience in leading development projects and managing agri- and allied programmes. He has managed private sector-led agriculture development programs for Indian agro-industry and international development organizations. He has been involved in business development, project development and monitoring & evaluation of agricultural programs. He specializes in ecological farming, climate change, rural economic development, policy and programs for agribusiness, and rural enterprise development & management. He has worked with several not for profit and for-profit companies. He holds Master’s degree in Plant Pathology from Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar.
He is Director Operations and member of Core Management Group at People’s Action for National Integration.
Jagdish Giri is science graduate from Allahabad University. He is of 47 years. Has been working with PANI (a leading development organization of Uttar Pradesh, India) for last 20 years and strongly believes in voluntarism, positive thinking and constructive action. His mission is to empower rural poor in underdeveloped regions of Uttar Pradesh and India to fight social and economic exclusion. PANI is providing him opportunities to do this work of his choice. He believes in performing at 101%. He is a self-made, self-taught, self-driven and hard working person and strives to develop himself progressively and to work intensively with profound understanding, analytical perspective, resourcefulness and insights; and always be effortful to contribute to those development organizations, resource agencies and funding agencies, who have been working or supporting for the poverty alleviation & integrated development of the rural poor at grass-root level in underdeveloped regions of Uttar Pradesh as well as in other states of India.
He is Member of PANI- Core Management Group (CMG) and working as Head-Programs at PANI. Having progressive experience of developing, implementing and coordinating many projects in past on issues of women and adolescent girls empowerment, integrated child development, community health and livelihood. He also heads the Women and Adolescent Girls Empowerment and Health & Sanitation thematic verticals at PANI.
Shashank K Gupta
Head (IT & Admin, Procurement and Travels)
Shashank K Gupta (39) having post graduation in Sociology and PG Degree in computer applications has been working with PANI since October 2001. He is a passionate development professional and he developed his professional efficiency over the years to provide efficient services to non-governmental organizations in areas of IT, Admin, procurement and travels. He always strives to achieve the professional excellence to perform in result-oriented mode. Initially he started his career with PANI from IT and Admin Assistant and gradually progressed and reached at PANI-Core Management Group (CMG) level. Currently he heads IT& Admin Procurement and Travels Division at PANI. His Key Responsibility Areas-KRA are-
1) IT related functions at organization level
2) Performing administrative functions at head office level
3) Processing procurements of goods and services for organization
4) Managing travel desk
5) Providing secretarial support to organization’s Governing Board and chief functionary
6) Support to other Core Management Group-CMG Members in resource mobilization related works

Head (Finance & Legal Compliance)
Pathani Behera (54) belongs to Ganjam district of Odisha and he is Commerce Graduate from Berhampur University, Odisha. He has been working with PANI since January 1996 and having experience of working with Founder person of PANI. He is the senior most finance person at PANI and heads Finance and Legal Compliances Division at PANI. He handles the following responsibilities at PANI.
- Annual budgeting of organization
- Budget tracking
- Financial management at organization level
- Ensuring Legal Compliances- Society Registration’s renewal, Income Tax Returns/TDS, FCRA, EPF etc
- Auditing (Both external and internal)
- Financial monitoring of projects being implemented at various locations
- Facilitating due-diligence and pre-funding appraisal of organization by potential donors/funding agencies
- Fulfilling requirements of current funding partners
- Capacity building inputs to account personnel of finance division
- Secretarial support to chief functionary in Governance related functions
Head (HR & Senior Accounts Manager)
Vinay Sharma (39) having Post Graduation in Commerce came into development sector 2006 and joined PANI in 2007. He has thorough understanding about financial management, accountings and legal compliances of not for-profit entities. During last 14 years; along with performing his job responsibilities; he also invested his energy simultaneously to enhance his understanding and efficiency at a desirable level of professional standards. He is well connected with the several leading development sector professionals and associations for mutual learning, consultations and taking updates.
