Mr. Shashi Singh

Mr. Shashi Singh is a committed social activist inspired by Gandhian ideals of integrated rural development and Gram Swaraj. As a student, he was an active participant in the Sampurna Kranti Andolan (1974) led by Jai Prakash Narayan, during which he spent 10 months in prison for his activism.
Since 1996, he has been associated with PANI in a technical advisory role, offering valuable support in designing and implementing community-led development initiatives. Over his journey, he has successfully coordinated four flagship projects focused on health, women’s rights, and livelihoods.
Currently, Mr. Singh leads the SATHI-UP network (Supporting Association for Thematic and Holistic Initiative – Uttar Pradesh), a collective of 469 grassroots organizations dedicated to catalyzing change across underdeveloped regions of Uttar Pradesh. His strengths include community mobilization, issue-specific engagement, stakeholder convergence, and capacity building of grassroots civil society organizations.
